We are thrilled to announce the evolution of the Moroccan Digital Awards into the African Digital Awards. This significant change reflects our commitment to expanding our scope to recognize and celebrate excellence in the digital sphere across the entire African continent. Originally part of the African Digital Summit (ADS), these Awards have honored outstanding digital achievements within Morocco for several years. This year, we are broadening our horizons to include digital campaigns and initiatives from all African markets, promoting a spirit of continental collaboration and competition.

The African Digital Awards will continue to celebrate the most innovative and impactful digital work, setting new standards of excellence. Our goal is to highlight the best practices in the industry and encourage digital professionals and emerging talents to push the boundaries of creativity and innovation.

Participation conditions

Applications for the 2024 edition of the African Digital Awards will be open from September 2, 2024, to all brands operating in Africa that have launched a campaign or initiative during 2023 and 2024.

To participate, simply submit your application in the category of your choice by attaching

1. A pdf template form file fully completed with the information about your campaign

2- A "media" file (video) with a maximum size of 10 MB, presenting the use case and not exceeding 2 minutes.

3. A Powerpoint file that should tell the case in 10 slides.

The African Digital Awards 2024 are open to all brands present in Africa, and the competition will take place across 11 categories.

Description:
This category serves as the top honor in digital marketing, honoring the most outstanding and effective content-driven campaigns that have successfully executed an integrated digital strategy to enhance brand strength and achieve significant impact on brand image, awareness, and commercial objectives. It provides a comprehensive view of excellence in digital campaigns, celebrating brands that have innovated and stood out. To qualify as a digital campaign, entries must have utilized at least two or three digital touchpoints, such as social media influence, retail media, or websites.

Evaluation Criteria:
This category recognizes the most innovative and high-performing digital campaigns that exemplify excellence in brand communication, combining creativity with strategic rigor. Award-winning campaigns will be those that demonstrate a deep understanding of digital marketing mechanisms and the ability to generate a lasting impact on brand perception and consumer/user/client behavior.

Description:
This award recognizes campaigns that have effectively utilized the optimal digital media mix to best achieve their digital objectives while maximizing impact on their target audience. Winning campaigns will be those that have demonstrated exceptional mastery of digital tools and platforms to create a memorable experience and generate maximum impact with their target audience. Eligible campaigns must be digital-centric, with minimal or no use of traditional offline media. Considered digital media include social media, retail media, influencer marketing, websites, and more.

Evaluation Criteria:
To win this award, campaigns must demonstrate exceptional mastery of digital tools and platforms, innovative strategy, and the ability to create a memorable user experience. They should also show significant creativity in the selection and integration of digital media and perfect alignment with market trends. Additionally, precise measurement of performance is essential to assess the campaign's impact on communication objectives.

This award recognizes marketing campaigns that have successfully created a unique and memorable connection between their brand and a powerful existing marketing asset (such as global/regional/local sports organizations, celebrities, brands, major events, film/TV/music production studios, licensing, etc.) or a brand-created marketing asset (such as music, sports, gaming, food, design, etc.). By leveraging innovative and strategic collaboration, these campaigns have effectively enhanced brand visibility and established a strong emotional bond with their target audience.

Evaluation Criteria:
To be eligible, a campaign must demonstrate exceptional creative originality, perfect alignment with the brand image, and significant impact on the brand’s commercial results and the marketing asset. It should also have been primarily deployed across digital channels and fully leveraged the opportunities they offer.

This category honors the most innovative and effective influencer campaigns that leverage the power of digital influencers, whether human or AI-generated, to reach a targeted audience. Campaigns will be evaluated based on their ability to form strategic influencer partnerships, generate authentic and impactful content, and demonstrate a significant return on investment.

Evaluation Criteria:
To win this award, campaigns must demonstrate operational and strategic excellence in influencer marketing. Evaluation criteria will focus on the relevance of influencer selection, alignment with the brand’s image and strategy, creativity and effectiveness of the generated content, authenticity of the relationship, accuracy of performance measurement, and innovation in the deployed strategy.

It highlights initiatives that have fostered deep and lasting interactions with audiences, going beyond mere increases in mentions. This award recognizes campaigns that have successfully transformed their digital communities into vibrant ecosystems of exchange and co-creation.

To win this award, campaigns must demonstrate exceptional mastery in personalizing the user experience, creating engaging content, fostering co-creation with the community, measuring performance, and continuously optimizing their efforts. Additionally, they should show the ability to generate a significant impact on strategic and financial objectives.

Evaluation Criteria:
Evaluation will focus on the quality of data used, the relevance of the analyses conducted, the personalization of messages, and the impact on performance metrics (such as conversion rates, average order value, etc.).

Eligible projects must demonstrate exceptional mastery of the bidirectional interaction between these two realms, providing consumers with an immersive and cohesive experience, whether transitioning from virtual to real or vice versa.

Evaluation Criteria:
Campaigns will be evaluated on their ability to create an innovative and cohesive phygital customer experience, with smooth and enriching transitions between virtual and physical realms. Selected projects must demonstrate exceptional mastery of bidirectional interaction between the physical and digital worlds, while showing the ability to generate strong consumer engagement, enhance brand relationships, and deliver tangible results in terms of key performance indicators.

This award recognizes communication campaigns, whether from businesses or public entities, that have demonstrated a strong and tangible commitment to sustainability and social and environmental responsibility. Winning campaigns will effectively combine measurable social and environmental impact with transparent and authentic communication, thereby inspiring others to adopt more responsible practices.

Evaluation Criteria:
To win this award, campaigns must demonstrate a sincere and measurable commitment to sustainability and social responsibility. The jury will assess each campaign's ability to combine positive impact on society and the environment with clear, transparent, and authentic communication. Campaigns should show consistency between their actions and messaging, as well as the ability to engage various stakeholders around their issues.

This category honors brands that have innovatively harnessed artificial intelligence technologies to enhance and transform their advertising campaigns. Eligible campaigns must demonstrate how they have utilized generative AI applications, such as text-to-text, text-to-image, text-to-audio, or text-to-video, to create unique advertising content while strictly adhering to copyright and image rights.

Evaluation Criteria:
Evaluation will focus on the originality of AI integration, the seamless combination with creativity and traditional production techniques, and the significant impact on campaign performance.

Description:
This category honors candidates who have innovated and excelled in the e-commerce landscape. Whether in B2B, B2C, D2C, marketplaces, order aggregation platforms, social commerce, or lead generation via social media, candidates will be evaluated on their ability to create unique and memorable online shopping experiences.

Evaluation Criteria:
Evaluation will focus on the effective use of all levers to achieve an exceptional user experience, including design, ergonomics, ease of use, and customer journey. The category also values efforts in data analysis, event creation, use of conversion media, and implementation of innovative marketing campaigns. Platforms that excel in attracting and converting visitors into customers while providing a seamless and engaging user experience will be prioritized. Criteria include the effectiveness of marketing campaigns, impact on revenue, excellence in e-merchandising, and successful integration of creative ideas to drive sales.

Description:
This category honors companies that have created memorable and impactful digital experiences, turning their platforms into true competitive assets. Beyond mere marketing campaigns, the focus here is on the entire digital customer journey: from discovery to purchase, including after-sales service.

Evaluation Criteria:
This award recognizes the most innovative digital experiences that, through user-centered design, advanced personalization, and cutting-edge technologies, generate a measurable impact on business outcomes. Key aspects of evaluation include the coherence of the customer journey, personalization of the experience, optimization of interfaces, implementation of key performance indicators, integration of innovative technologies, and impact on commercial results.
